About Our Pastor
Here at East River Baptist Church, we have the joy of worshipping and serving together under the direction of Pastor Tony Miller. Along with his wife Lisa, and their son Andrew, Pastor Tony leads by example as he teaches each member to be rooted and grounded in God’s holy word.
Pastor Tony was raised here in the mountains of southern West Virginia where he was saved at the age of nine. A couple of years after graduating high school, he moved to Statesville, North Carolina. After marrying his high school sweetheart Lisa, on March 14, 1998, the two had a renewed desire to live for the Lord. It was in 1999 that the Lord led them to Freedom Baptist Church in Hiddenite, North Carolina under Dr. Sam Vallini. It was under Dr. Vallini’s sound teaching and preaching that God really began to work in Brother Tony’s heart and life. On October 8, 2000, Brother Tony publicly surrendered to the call to preach the word of God. After serving out of Freedom Baptist Church and a weekly nursing home ministry, Brother Tony came back to West Virginia to take his first pastorate at Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Camp Creek, West Virginia on September 14, 2003.
On February 4, 2015, the Lord blessed Pastor Tony and his wife Lisa with a beautiful baby boy, Andrew. Pastor Tony has earned his Bachelor of Divinity Degree from The Bible Doctrine Institute (TBDI), Jacksonville Florida in 2016. He works and studies to “rightly divide the word of truth” as our church is rooted and grounded in the word of God. His focus as he teaches and preaches is to encourage us to maintain our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
We have been so blessed as Pastor Tony follows the Lord’s leading in every aspect of our church. On August 31, 2021, Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church relocated by purchasing another church property in Princeton West Virginia. On October 2, 2021, Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church merged and became East River Baptist Church. We feel blessed here, and we look forward to what the Lord has in store for us!
